How to choose casters, dollies and parts

Start with load capacity and platform size. This category includes capacities from 300 lb to 1,200 lb and common platform or wheel dimensions such as 36" x 18" x 2.5", 24" x 3" x 32", and 5" x 1.25" x 5". Match capacity to the total load and select a safety margin above expected weight.

Finishes and materials in practice

Finishes available include chrome and stainless; colors listed include gray, black and green. Materials include carbon steel, stainless, thermoplastic, polymer and polyurethane. Stainless products are suited to corrosion resistance; carbon steel provides strength where corrosion is not a primary concern.

Sizing and common configurations

Common wheel and frame sizes appear across the line. Examples: dolly frames in 60" x 18" and 48" x 24" widths, and mobile dollies around 36-5/8" x 25-1/5" x 8" with a 1,200 lb rating. Caster sizes range from small swivel models to pneumatic casters rated at 325 lb.
